Califortunate Social Media
I helped set up the social media marketing for an exciting new philanthropic fashion project in Los Angeles called Califortunate. The brand initiative was for every one item purchased, the brand would donate the same to charity; garment for garment.
Social Media Marketing Campaign Delivered:
The idea was simple. What if we could design and make clothing here in America, and in the process, be able to give back to communities that support and inspire us. Califortunate spent 2 years designing, finding the perfect fabric and building relationships with factories here in Los Angeles. ‘Made in America’ has always stood for quality and Califortunate wanted to play their part in bringing factories back to the United States by showing that it’s still possible to pay people a fair wage and still be able to have things made locally.
Califortunate teamed up with K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers, the charity of choice for new product donations made by hundreds of companies in the fashion, home and children’s industries. Donating new merchandise provides these companies with a simple and effective way to help people in need. Founded in 1985, K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that unites retailers, manufacturers, foundations and individuals to support people affected by poverty and tragedy. They are an extremely efficient charity, with more than 97% of revenue dedicated to providing apparel, accessories, shoes, home furnishings, toys, books and other useful items. Since 1985, over $1.3 billion of donated products have been distributed through their network of community partners, serving the poor and disadvantaged worldwide.
Made in Los Angeles and designed in Venice Beach, sporting the Califortunate brand was a reminder to be thankful for what we have, by helping those most in need. Originally set up as a Kickstarter campaign, Califortunate will be launch in Spring 2018 with it’s own store in Venice Beach.
