Traxsource

It’s not very often you get a chance to meet your heroes, let alone work with them, but that’s exactly what happened when I was given the opportunity to work at Traxsource.

As a house music DJ since 1994, my record box has been full of amazing tracks written by Brian Tappert and Marc Pomeroy, not to mention being a loyal Traxsource customer for 10 years. I don’t even entertain getting my music from anywhere else; it’s the home of REAL house music.

Amazingly, Brian and Marc gave me the chance to interview another one of my house music heroes, Kerri Chandler, as my first task. This then led to me interviewing other esteemed luminaries like Louie Vega, Kenny Dope, Farley and Heller, Sandy Rivera and many more. Plus a few more lighthearted articles like The Request Line and Your Shot at What Exactly?

The most popular article I wrote for Traxsource was my whimsical memoir of Discovering the Master at the Ministry, which was promoted by not only the hugely influential Defected Records, but also Kenny Dope and Louie Vega themselves.

They also gave me the opportunity to run their Instagram account, which I took from from 6,000 to 21,000 within 10 months. I curating the very best club and house music images from across the globe every day, featuring the best parties and DJs. I think we really caught the imagination of the IG house music crew, as 1.5K new followers a month is not to be sniffed at.

Really fun, crazy times working with those guys and I can’t thank the team enough for allowing me the opportunity to get involved. I know I’m not collecting an award here, but come on; my first task was a phone interview with Kerri Chandler. I was living the dream, so massive thanks to BT, Marc and the rest of the team for allowing me into the Traxsource family.
